Carey Jones has lately had film roles in The Work and the Glory, St. Joseph College: A Triumph of Faith, and the yet to be released Bell Witch: The Movie, Crime Wave, and A Dance for Bethany.

 

His 30 years of acting include TV commercials, spots on Animal Planet as a Park Ranger, and church and community theatre - most recently touring with the Word Players of Knoxville in A Woman Called Truth.

 

Carey also does voice

work as the narrator

for the new Bird

Songs of the Smokies CD, the 2-hour docudrama St. Joseph College, and other educational DVD's. He also tells ghost stories on Great Smoky Mountains Association's pod casts.

 

A Smoky Mountain citizen for nearly 15 years now, Carey grew up in eastern North Carolina and completed college in Texas. From the charm of old Santa Fe, he met his wife, Joette, and they began theatre acting at all stops on his vocational pilgrimage. Carey is now thrice-blessed by performing with his wife and 2 sons, Jared and Ryan, in various productions.

 

A retired naturalist from Great Smoky Mountains National Park, he continues to prowl the woods, leading nature hikes and drawing inspiration from the Smokies.

 

And in summers long ago he was a pretty fair softball player with Ridgecrest Baptist Assembly's Rec Crew. He looks forward to rekindling those moves and memories with the Boys of Summerville.
